Hingham Coffee Shop Robbers Fail to Break Open Safe

The coffee shop was the victim of an overnight break-in on Tuesday night.

Robbers broke into a Hingham Harbor business and attempted to forcibly break open the business’ safe Tuesday night and into early Wednesday morning.

Employees at Redeye Roasters, 3 Otis St., discovered the business was broken into around 5:45 a.m. on Wednesday, according to a post on the Hingham Police Facebook page.

Police said the robbers dragged the 250-pound office safe to middle of the office and unsuccessfully attempted to open the safe despite seriously damaging it.
