Hingham Girls Golf and Tennis Teams Start Season With Wins

Two successful season openers for the Hingham High School girls golf and girls tennis teams.

The girls golf and girls tennis teams both started their seasons off with wins.

The girls golf defeated Mt. Alvernia 6-0 on Thursday afternoon at the South Shore Country Club.

The team is captained by seniors Alessandra Gratta and Nikki Granatino

“Under their leadership, it looks to be another excellent season for the team,” said Hingham head coach Bob Weiss.

The girls play at home again on April 5 against Fontbonne Academy at 3:30 p.m.

The Hingam High School girls tennis team defeated Ursuline Academy, 3- 2 Thursday in Hingham.

In singles competition, Hingham senior Julia Krumholz  defeated Lexie Hinrichs 6-0, 6-3,  Delaney Dunlap of Hingham defeated Srianya Malempati 6-0, 6-3, and Kristen Ferrucci from Hingham defeated Frances Walsh 6-1, 6-0.

In doubles competition sisters Emily and Sara Curtis from Ursuline defeated Nikki Lund and Millie Valero from Hingham  6-3, 6-3 and Ariana Lamora and Avery Smith defeated Annie Dwyer and Allison McCarthy 6-2, 6-2

Hingham tennis coach Linda Partridge said  Hingham is now 0-0 in-league and 1-0 overall.

The girls tennis team plays next on April 2 at Cohasset.
