Hingham Girls Hockey Cruise Past Chelmsford
Hingham moves on in the state tournament by defeating Chelmsford, 5-2.
The Hingham Harborwomen girls ice hockey team will move on in the state tournament after they cruised past Chelmsford with a 5-2 victory.
The first period started with a lot of pressure by Hingham on Lions goaltender Torrie Russo. With four minutes into the first, a shot by Hingham's Shauna Sullivan found the back of the net behind Russo, assisted by Sam Ryder. Hingham scored again at 7:45 after Sarah Schwenzfeier scored a goal, assisted by Catherine Linehan and Jane Freda.
The Lions scored after Alicia Steeves put a puck past Hingham goaltender Taylor Walsh unassisted. The first period ended 3-1 Hingham.

Hingham's Catherine Linehan and Torri Messina scored during the second to make the game 5-1.
The Lions netted one more goal in the third period by Julianne Sheehan, assisted by Laura Kender, but it wasn't enough to get the win.
