Hingham Girls Tennis Defeat ND, Fall to Cohasset

The girls tennis team now has a 2-1 record this season.

The Girls Tennis defeated , 4-1 on Friday in a  non-league match-up.

In singles competition,  Grace Biciunas of Notre Dame defeated HHS senior Julia Krumholz 6-3, 6-1, Delaney Dunlap  of Hingham defeated Julie Rohnstock 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, and Daniel Vanzura of Hingham defeated Allie Bridgeman 6-4, 6-4.

In doubles competition, the Harborwomen dominated Notre Dame. Nikki Lund and Millie Valero of Hingham High School defeated Meg Garrow and Meg Golden 4-6, 6-1, 6-1, and Harborwomen

Ashland Stansbury and Maxine Bergstein  defeated Hannah Pasqualucci and Amanda Hajar 5-7,  6-4, 6-4.

On Monday Coach Linda Partridge’s team suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of Cohasset.

In a very close competition,  Cohasset came out on top defeating Hingham, 3-2.

In doubles, Hingham swept Cohasset.  Nikki Lund and Allison McCarthy from Hingham defeated Meredith Spofford and Caitlin DeAngelis 6-4, 6-4 and Ashland Stansbury and Maxine Bergstein of  HHS defeated Kate Sookiasian and Gabrielle LeMoyne 6-2,  6-3.

But Hingham High School struggled in singles competition losing all three match-ups.

Cohasset’s Emma Davis, Hannah Rawson and Emma Smith earned victories for Cohasset in singles competition. Davis defeated  Krumholz 6-3, 6-0,  Rawson came out on top against Dunlap 7-5, 1-6, 6-1, and Smith defeated Hingham’s Kristen Ferrucci 6-3, 6-2.
