Hingham High School Junior Pitches a No-Hitter
Junior Rob Madden did not allow a hit Thursday against Sandwich
Junior Rob Madden pitched his first career no hitter Thursday afternoon, striking out nine batters to lead the Hingham baseball team to a 5-0 win over Sandwich in a non-league game.
Madden dominated Sandwich batters and nearly pitched a perfect game. He walked one batter and Hingham fielders combined for one error over seven inning.
After the game, Head Coach Bob Rodgers said Madden’s no-hit performance was simply awesome.

“He commanded all of his pitches and really hit his spots,” Rodger said. “He just seemed more relaxed out there today than he has at other times this season. He was consistently getting ahead of the hitters and that allowed him to make pitcher’s pitches.”
In the win, Hingham junior first baseman slugger Sean Greene had another power performance at the bat. Greene went 4-for-4 with an RBI and he also scored a run. Stephan White went 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs and Eddie Bower went 2–for-4 with an RBI and scored one run
