Hingham Athletic Director Margaret Conaty is inviting  former Hingham High School track captains to celebrate the "Grand Opening" of the new track. The grand opening will take place at halftime of the Thanksgiving Day football game vs Scituate.  Any former track captain is encouraged to contact Contaty at <a href="mailto:mconaty@hinghamschools.com" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">mconaty@hinghamschools.com</a> or 781-741-1560 x5. The new eight lane track (six around)  was completed in September.  It is a significant upgrade from the old deteriorating turf track, which was originally laid in 1985 and resurfaced in 1995-96.  School Committee member Ray Estes said the final costs have not been confirmed yet for the track or tennis courts, but both did come in under budget. The track was budgeted at $600,000 and the tennis courts at $60,000.
