A recap of Hingham High School athletics.

May 24:

Hingham High School Girl's Tennis defeated  Notre Dame Academy (Hingham),  4-1 on May 24 in non-league action.

1st singles:    Grace Bicunas from NDA defeated Julia Krumholz from Hingham  6-0, 6-2.

2nd singles:   Delaney Dunlap from Hingham defeated Allie Bridgeman from NDA  7-6, 6-4.

3rd singles:    Millie Valero from Hingham defeated Julie Rohnstock from NDA  6-3, 6-0.

1st doubles: Nikki Lund and Kristen Ferrucci from Hingham defeated Meg Garrow and Meg Golden from NDA 6-2, 6-4.

2nd doubles: Ashland Stansbury and Maxine Bergstein from Hingham defeated Amanda Hajjar and Natalia Maccarone 7-5,  6-2.

"Hingham finishes their regular season 13-0 in-league and 18-1 overall."

The Hingham High Girls' Lacrosse team finished theirregular season strongly  with a big win against Mansfield.  The Seniors and parents were recognized before playing a solid game to the last whistle.    Laura Fisher finished the plays at the cage consistently with 4 goals and 2 assists.  Julia Leahy, Maggie Watson and Carly Hussey were unstoppable on defense for the team.  The team consistently turned the forced turnovers into goals, a full team-effort, pushing the transition.  Emma Marjollet will be playing at Colby next year where she was recruited.  Colby finished 8th in the Nation in DIII.

Hingham High School Girl’s Tennis defeated  North Quincy  Girl's Tennis,  3-2 , in league action.

1st singles:    Elizabeth Sullivan from North Quincy defeated Julia Krumholz from Hingham  6-1, 4-6, 6-4

2nd singles:   Sara Sullivan from North Quincy defeated Delaney Dunlap from Hingham 6-0, 4-6, 6-2

3rd singles:    Danielle Vanzura from Hingham defeated Mallory DeVoe from North Quincy 6-0, 6-0

1st doubles: Nikki Lund and Kristen Ferrucci from Hingham defeated Sanjana Kadirvel and Christina Ng  from North Quincy 6-4, 6-3

2nd doubles: Ashland Stansbury and Maxine Bergstein from Hingham defeated Kayla Sugrue and Kim Tsang  from North Quincy 6-0,  6-0.

Hingham is now 13-0 in-league and 17-1 overall.

 

May 22:

The girls golf team ended their season on  a high note with a 4-2 win over Wellesley to finish the season 11-7.

During a rainy day three girls from the team were deemed All-Stars by finishing in the top ten of the Mass Bay League Championship.

Ashley Harkins finished 5th with a 43. Emily O’Toole and Mackenzie Millerd both score 46 finishing 8th and 9th respectively. The team will next compete on Tuesday in the State Team Tournament at Holden Hills.

May 21:

Hingham Girls' Lacrosse played a tough game against Notre Dame Academy.  Notre Dame came out strong with tough pressure on the draw in the midfield and consistent attacking motion at our cage.   In the end Notre Dame was victorious, winning 14-5.

Hingham High School Girl’s Tennis defeated  Silver Lake's Girl's Tennis, 3-2 and 4-1  in two back to back pro-set matches in league action. These matches were played back to back because the previously scheduled time for one of them, was rained out.

May 16:

In the last two days, Hingham has improved their record to 10 – 5 in the mass Bay League. At this point, the team has qualified to compete in the State Team Championship. Hingham def. Brookline 5-1 on Monday and 3.5 to 2.5 on Tuesday. We also lost 3-2 vs Saugus yesterday. Thank you for your support at HinghamPatch.

2nd singles:  Delaney Dunlap from Hingham defeated defeated Meghan O'Neal from Duxbury 6-0, 6-2

3rd singles: Allison McCarthy from Hingham defeated Nicole Hanrahan from Duxbury 6-3, 6-1

Hingham girls’ lacrosse  had a big win on May 12 against Patriot League Competitor Scituate.  Hingham won 16-12 taking second place behind the Duxbury powerhouse.
