Brig. Gen. Christopher P. Weggeman will be the guest speaker at this year’s Memorial Day Service in Hingham.
The annual observance will be held on Monday morning at 11 a.m. at the Town Commons, which is across the street from Dependable Cleaners in Hingham Center.
Seating will provided but guests are asked to bring lawn chairs. There will also be a luncheon, which will follow the service for all veterans at the GAR Hall at 358 Main Street.

Weggeman is Deputy Director for Command, Control, Communications and Computers (C4)/Cyber, Joint Staff, J6, the Pentagon, Washington, D.C. He conducts analysis and assessments; provides Joint and Combined Force C4 guidance, and evaluates C4 requirements, plans, programs and strategies for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Before his speech, all veterans and their families along with the Hingham High School band, the Boy Scouts will be positioned on the streets around the Hingham Commons. All living veterans and those who have passed away will be honored at the observance.

The ceremony will be called by new Town Moderator Michael Puzo and will also include music from the HHS band, a wreath laying by the boy scouts and an invocation by Rev. John McHugh.
If it rains, the ceremony will be held at the Town Hall’s Sanborn Auditorium.
A moment of silence will be held around the country at 3 p.m.
