Hingham Lowers Flag to Half Staff For Slain US Ambassador

In honor of John Christopher Stevens, a U.S. Ambassador to Libya killed in a attack this week, all towns across the state will lower their flags to half-staff.

The will fly their flag at half staff until sunset Sunday in honor of John Christopher Stevens, U.S. Ambassador to Libya.

Stevens was killed in the attack on the U.S. diplomatic facility in Benghazi.

In an email to Patch, Hingham Town Clerk Eileen McCracken said Governor Deval L. Patrick has ordered that the United States flag and the Commonwealth flag to be lowered to half-staff at administration building of each town, all state-owned or state-controlled building, and all state military installation.
