Hingham Lowers Flag to Half Staff in Honor of Mass Congressman
The Hingham Town Hall lowered their flag to half-staff on Wednesday to pay tribute to a former Congressman.

Governor Deval L. Patrick has ordered that the United States flag and the Commonwealth flag be lowered to half-staff at the Hingham Town Hall in honor of Congressman Joseph D. Early.
Early passed represented the third district of Massachusetts in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1975 to 1993. He died on Friday at the age of 79.
The Govenor ordered this also be done at all state buildings effective immediately until sunset today, November 14, 2012.

According to Hingham Veterans' Services Director Keith Jermyn, this gubernatorial order applies to:
1. The main or administration building of each public institution of the Commonwealth, e.g. town and city halls.
2. Other state-owned or state-controlled buildings.
