Hingham Native Designs New Video Game

Hingham native Joe Boyle released his newest video game "Negative Nimbus" on Wednesday.

Joe Boyle has been interested in arts since his time at Hingham High School.

It wasn’t long ago when the 1999 HHS graduate  was sitting in Mr. Bliss’s art classroom putting his portfolio together. Now Boyle sits at his desk in an office in Brighton and creates video games.

Boyle, now  a 31 years-old Watertown resident,  helped release Cloud Kid's newest game “Negative Nimbus” on Wednesday which is available on the iPad. In the next few months it will be available for download on the iPhone and Android for 99 cents.

Boyle works for the company, Cloud Kid and was responsible for the animation, design , content development and storyboards of the new game which was made for players of all ages.

The purpose of the game, is to guide a rain cloud character so that he gets to rain down on flowers and avoid other characters such as hot dogs, computers and other objects that can’t get wet. “Negative Nimbus”  has already won a Boston Festival of Indie Games award for best visuals and design and Boyle expects it to be successful.
