Hingham Native Scraps With the Boston Bruins

Hingham's Brian Boyle roughed it up with three different Bruins players on Sunday night in New York.

Last night at Madison Square Garden, The Boston Bruins clinch the Northeast Division title and clinched the No. 2 seed for the NHL Eastern Conference playoffs by defeating Hingham native Brian Boyle and the first-place New York Rangers.

Boyle, a center for the Rangers, and a native of Hingham was the Bruins biggest enemy last night as he got into scuffles with Shawn Thornton, Rich Peverly and Bruins captain Zdeno Chara.

Boyle’s exchange with Thornton led to a Bruins penalty and put the Rangers on the power play. Boyle and Chara also got the New York crowd going when they almost dropped the gloves and fought  before trading sharp words and slashes.
