Hingham Police Alert Seniors of New Phone Scam
Police said the caller acts extremely aggressive and will attempt to intimidate the resident into sending the money or face being arrested.

Hingham Police are warning residents to be aware of a new phone scam that targets elderly people.
According to Hingham Police, the scam is executed as follows: " The senior citizen receives a call from a person claiming to be a Police Officer or Federal Agent. The caller claims to have a warrant for the arrest of the resident which can only be cleared up by sending a money order or a rechargeable Visa/Mastercard to them.”
Police said the caller acts extremely aggressive and will attempt to intimidate the resident into sending the money or face being arrested.

Police believe the calls are originating out of Central Mass. They have not yet been reported in Hingham.
