Hingham Police Looking For Driver Who Tried to Grab Teenage Girl

Hingham Police Sgt. Steven Dearth said the jogger called police from her cell phone at 8:28 p.m. after a suspicious yellow or tan minivan drove up to her on Wanders Drive and tried to snatch her.

Hingham Police are on the lookout for a middle-aged white male, who they say tried to grab a 13-year-old female jogger on Wednesday night.

Hingham Police Sgt. Steven Dearth said the jogger called police from her cell phone at 8:28 p.m. after a suspicious yellow or tan minivan drove up to her on Wanders Drive and tried to snatch her.

The jogger yelled  “get away,” once she was approached, and she ran into the woods where she called the police from her cell phone, Dearth said.

The jogger told police that the vehicle never slowed down or stopped, but she did describe the driver as a  white male, 35-40 years of age with dark hair, wearing a black North Face jacket and blue jeans.
