Hingham Reacts to Boston Marathon Explosions

Many of the businesses around town posted compassion for the victims on their Facebook Page.

After the explosions occurred on Monday afternoon, many Hingham residents and businesses showed love for the victims.

Members of the Hingham Police Department were assigned to METRO-LEC and SWAT and assisted Boston officer.

The Hingham Police Department later tweeted, “Our thoughts our with the Boston Marathon spectators, participants, staff, first responders and their families.”

Hingham Lt. Corey Farina was running the race in support of Alzheimer's & MS research and left the race without being harmed, according to a employee in the Records' Department.

Many of the businesses around town including The Eastern Mountain Sports at the Shipyard, posted compassion for the victims on their Facebook Page.

“Our thoughts are with the City of Boston today and everybody affected by the tragedy at the marathon,” EMS Hingham posted.

The Hingham Newcomers Club said, “We are filled with sadness today for the city we know and love. Our thoughts are with anyone affected by the explosions at the marathon today.”  

Roster, who has sports apparel stores at Hingham’s Derby Street Shoppes and in Philadelphia posted,   “Philadelphia is saying prayers for all those hurt today in the Boston Marathon explosions.”  

Celebrity Mark Wahlberg who is also a co-owner of Alma Nove and Wahlburgers at the Shipyard wrote the following message on Facebook:

“Thoughts and prayers with my hometown Boston today.”

Former Senator Scott Brown: "Like many of you, I was at first horrified. Now I am mad. This was a cowardly act, just cowardly. Our country is at its best when our back is against the wall. We need to be united and stand as Americans first. We need to get answers, find out who did this and hold them fully accountable."

South Shore Mamas: " Please pray for the Richard family, who have lost their 8-year-old son, his mom and sister severely injured. Pray for all the families who are hurt and heartbroken. Pray for Boston. This is unbelievable, there are no words. I hope that you and your families are safe today. "

Kohl's (Derby Street Shoppes): "Our hearts are with you, Boston."

Lululemon Athletica Derby Street: "Sending many prayers to all our friends and family at the Marathon. Please check in and let us know you're okay."

"Old Navy (Hingham Shipyard) "Our hearts are with those impacted by the tragic events in Boston today."

Dancing Crow Yoga (Derby Street Shoppes) " Love and comfort to all those affected by today's explosion at the Boston Marathon."

White House | Black Market (Derby Street Shoppes) "We are truly saddened by the tragedy in Boston. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected."
