Hingham Receives Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting
The award is the most prestigious given in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.

The Board of Selectman announced earlier this week that the received the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting award for the 15th consecutive year from the Government Finance Officers Association for fiscal year 2010.
The selectman praised the Town for its highest possible standards of accounting. The award is the highest honor given in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.
“This one is special to me because Sue Nickerson should be honored,” said Town Administrator and former Town Accountant Ted Alexiades.

Susan Nickerson is Hingham’s Town Accountant who was recently named in replacement of Alexiades, who was the former town Accountant.
The Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting award was established in 1945 to encourage and assist state and local governments to go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles and to prepare comprehensive annual financial reports.
