The discussion will take place at from 7:30 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. and will be co-sponsored by the Hingham No Place For Hate committee and the Old Ship Immigration Study Group.
Tonight’s panel will include Chief of Police Michael Peraino, William Joyce, a retired judge, Behnaz Moshfegh, a domestic violence counselor for women, and Lena Graber with the National Immigration Project.
“Our intent and goal is to raise people's awareness surrounding this issue and clear up some of the myths and misconceptions about immigration,” Mitch Marcus of the Hingham No Place For Hate committee said in an email. “We are not taking any political positions on one side or the other, but rather, as I mentioned, to make the public better informed on the issue.”
