Hingham School Committee to Address Snow Days

A discussion about planning for making up the missed days is scheduled for Monday's meeting.

The Hingham School Committee is scheduled to discuss the high amount of snow days experienced during the school year at their meeting on Monday.

The item, “To have further discussion about planning for making up days because of weather related issues,” is listed under new business.

Like other South Shore towns like Weymouth, Braintree, and Quincy, the Hingham Public Schools have had to cancel an unusually high amount of school days due to snow and snow removal.

So far, Hingham has missed seven days of school, with the latest occurring on Feb. 23 due to efforts to remove snow from the roofs of the schools.

The school committee is scheduled to meet in the school department conference room at Town Hall at 7:30 p.m.
