Hingham Voters Will Decide on New Turf Field

At Annual Town Meeting voters will get to decide on details that will be added to the new athletic fields.

Hingham School Officials will ask taxpayers to fund synthetic turf for a proposed new high school athletic field at next month’s Town Meeting.

Hingham voters will also decide if field designers can install privately funded lights, according to Boston.com.  The lights will not cost taxpayers money but the school committee believed the town should decide if the lights should be added.

The current high school field has no lights, which prevents teams from hosting night games.
