Hingham Woman Arrested After Allegedly Stealing State Police Cruiser at Logan Airport

The incident happened around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday morning.

A woman whose last known address was in Hingham was arrested early Wednesday night morning allegedly leaving Logan Airport behind the wheel of a Massachusetts State Police cruiser.

Danielle J. McDonough, 29, was arraigned in East Boston District Court and charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle, trespassing and assault with a dangerous weapon according to NECN.

According to police, McDonough took the police cruiser after she was escorted outside of Terminal A by state police. Police thought she was waiting for a Silver Line bus but quickly noticed that a cruiser assigned to a trooper at the airport was missing.

CBS Boston adds that McDonough allegedly continued to drive away from the airport, running red lights and refusing to stop. Police were able to arrest McDonough after she drove into the parking lot of the Orient Heights MBTA station.

In 2012 and 2014, McDonough was issued a no trespassing order at the airport.

There was no damage to the cruiser or injuries resulting from the incident.

McDonough is due back in court on Jan. 27.

State police say they will conduct an internal investigation pertaining to how McDonough was able to steal the police cruiser.
