“It’s truly been an amazing journey to ever think this could come out of here from something that was so devastating of news,” Irons said.  “It really is a true gift that I’ve been given to see the children come together.

The Irons Strong Kids Team was organized by one of Iron’s former students, Mary O’ Sullivan, who in the past, has rode in the Pan Mass Challenge bike ride for kids.  O’Sullivan and other students at the Martinson Elementary School in Marshfield organized lemonade stands and bake sales to raise money for their teacher. Caleigh Laverty and her mother Pat made breast cancer ribbons and sold them at the event to raise more funds for Mrs. Irons.  Team Irons raised over $12,000 on Sunday and the Marshfield school was just one example of how hundreds of kids came together to make a difference in Hingham.
