Irish Couple Open Up Their Art Gallery to Hingham
John and Maureen Connolly, owners of Aisling Gallery & Framing will hold a St. Patrick's Day party tomorrow for Hingham residents at their business on Route 3A, Lincoln Street.
Owners John and Maureen Connolly will open up their Hingham business tomorrow evening for a St. Patrick’s Day celebration.
Every year on St. Patrick’s Day, the Hingham business owners transform their art gallery into an Irish festival.
The Connolly’s set up a table full of appetizers, smoked salmon and Irish bread and scones. They invite local musicians to play Irish tunes and they use their front register as a bar and John serves drinks to customers.

“It’s our way of giving back to our customers,” Maureen Connolly said. “I’m from Ireland, and of course St. Patrick's Day is a huge national holiday- a huge holiday accross the world for Irish people.”
In 1960, Maureen Connolly moved to America from Castlegregory which is located in South-West Ireland in County Kerry. It was in America where Maureen met John and started a family in Hingham.

Every year their Hingham neighbors and customers enjoy the celebration.
Margaret Delaney Wilbur, a neighbor of the Connolly’s in Hingham was at the festivities last year with her 95-year-old mother, Ellen Delaney. Both mother and daughter kept smiling to the sounds of Irish music.
Kristen Sykes and her husband, of Cohasset also attended last year’s party after they purchased a picture from the Connolly’s. They felt that the business owners were very welcoming.
“I wanted to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and enjoy lovely art,” Sykes said. “The whole place just represents Ireland and the owners are just so warm and friendly.”
The Connolly’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration will run from 6-8:00 p.m. on Saturday night at the Aisling Gallery & Framing on Route 3A, Lincoln Street. The community is welcome to attend.
