It’s Official: MBTA Keeps Hingham Ferry Service, Cuts Weekend Greenbush Line
The ferry service will remain, however prices will increase 33 percent.
The MBTA has made a final decision on their On Wednesday, the board that oversees the MBTA approved a budget that calls for an average 23 percent fare increase and service cuts, CBS News reported.
Ferry service prices will now increase 33 percent while the bus prices will increase 25 cents and subway prices will rise 30 cents.
The MBTA will also eliminate the Greenbush Line’s weekend commuter rail service.

With a 33 percent increase, the ferry price will rise from $6.00 to around $8. The price of a trip from Hull or Quincy to Logan Airport will rise from $12 to around $16.
With the fare increases, one train ride with a Charlie Card will rise from $170 to $200 and the price of a local bus ride with a Charlie Card will rise from $1.25 to $1.50.

The changes will be effective starting July 1.
