Sacred, Secular, and Silly: Family Carol Sing
Bring the kids and grandkids for a great evening to kick off the Advent season. This is part of the annual Jackson Square Tree Lighting, and we combine the likes of "Joy to the World," "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town" and even "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" to put across a very serious Christmas message. And bring an appetite for hot cocoa and freshly-baked cookies.
Sunday, Jan 8, at 3 p.m. FREE WILL OFFERING
A Little Christmas in Jackson Square
Our annual, ecumenical gift concert in celebration of Epiphany Sunday, or Three Kings' Day. We'll have multiple choirs and soloists from churches all over town to celebrate our common faith and raise some always-needed funds for our friends at the Weymouth Food Pantry. Since 2003 we have raised more than $8,000.
Saturday, March 31, at 8 p.m. Admission charged
Boston String Quartet
These top-notch musicians were so taken with the acoustics in our sanctuary that they asked to record here. In return, they'll be donating their time and talents in this special return engagement. If you were one of the lucky few who attended the March 2011 concert, bring some friends for an evening of music like nothing you'd expect. We'll have very special admission prices.
Friday, May 4, at 8 p.m. Admission charged
Barbara Knapp Memorial Concert - Southeastern Philharmonic Orchestra
America's oldest community orchestra, which calls our church its rehearsal home, performs a program of popular classics and classic pop. That means music that can include anything from the classics of Mozart and Brahms to opera music of Offenbach, the movie music of Ernest Gold, the showtunes of Rodgers and Hammerstein, and the jazz of Duke Ellington.
