Julie Andrews Tribute Artist to Perform in Hingham Today

Jennie Mulqueen will perform smash hits such as My Fair Lady, Camelot, Cinderella, Mary Poppins and the epic Sound of Music.

Julie Andrews Tribute artist, Jennie Mulqueen will perform this morning at the at 10 a.m.

“What’s most exciting is knowing that this music is cherished by grandparents, parents and children alike,”Mulqueen said in a statement.  “Essentially, the songs of Julie Andrews are the ones we all still want to sing together.”

This one-act performance includes songs from smash hits such as "My Fair Lady," "Camelot," "Cinderella," "Mary Poppins" and the epic "Sound of Music."  True to life elements lend insight to the demons faced and courage she gathered to capture the confidence to carry on.

The concert begins at 10 am in the Jane Carr Amphitheater at One Conservatory Drive, Hingham. 

With 25 years of leading opera and musical roles to her credit, Mulqueen’s first love is Cabaret genre performances.  In 2003, she founded Conscious Cabaret, a performance outlet that encourages audience participation and reflection on current social issues.

Mulqueen has been with South Shore Conservatory since 2006.  A  member of SSC’s voice department, she also serves as the Conservatory’s Director of Early Childhood Programs and Artistic Director of SSC’s Music Together program. 

Other Wednesday morning family concerts include musical storyteller Debbie and Friends on July 25; and Puppeteer Dan Butterworth on August 1.

Tickets for EUS family concerts are $15 for adults and $5 for children.  Special packages are available for groups of 10 or more.   There is no charge for children under three.  Tickets may be purchased online at www.sscmusic.org/evenings_under_the_stars.html.
