Liberty Bay Credit Union Hosting Children's Book Collection
Literacy = Liberty for Community Matters Team at Liberty Bay Credit Union

Financial Literacy is one of the cornerstones of Liberty Bay Credit Union’s foundation. Community Matters, the volunteer arm of Liberty Bay, is now making children’s literature its top priority. During the month of April, Liberty Bay Community Matters is partnering with Massachusetts Credit Unions and the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless in their campaign “A Bed for Every Child,” an initiative that will provide a mattress, linens and a bag of books to children in need.
“Liberty Bay Credit Union is proud to partner with the Cooperative Credit Union Association to bring the gift of reading to homeless children in Massachusetts,” said Charlette Robichaud of Community Matters. “Children from low-income families are at greater risk for entering school without basic reading skills. We would like to help children be prepared for school by making sure accessibility to books is not an issue”
Liberty Bay Credit Union will be collecting new and gently used children’s books during business hours throughout the month of April at its branch located at 10 Downer Avenue in Hingham, as well as its branches in Braintree, Scituate, and Woburn. The books will be distributed to children mid-May.
