Library Organizes Free April Vacation Events

Movies, crafts, and book parties are scheduled this week at the Library.

The Hingham Public Library has made it very easy for parents to keep their child busy this April vacation.

The Library has invited Hingham children to a number of free events that will be held during vacation week.

On Tuesday and Thursday at 2 p.m.,  the new Disney animated movie, “Tangled” will be shown in the Whitman room.  The movie is rated PG and introduces the fairy tale character, Rapunzel, a beautiful and feisty teen, who has magical hair. The movie’s length is a little over an hour and a half. Families are welcome to bring their own snacks and no registration is necessary.

Also this week at the Hingham Public Library, children can partake in the library’s fourth annual art contest.  The contest invites children ages 3 to 14 to celebrate this summer's theme, "One World, Many Stories," by creating a cultural or travel themed picture.  The top three winners will receive gift cards to Buttonwood Books & Toys and have their artwork featured on all of the library's summer program materials. All entries are due at the Children's Desk by Saturday, April 23.

The Library is  open on Saturday’s and Sundays but will be closed on Monday for Patriots Day and on Friday.
