Hingham, MA -- It’s been a long winter in MA. That’s why people who live at Linden Ponds thought they would kick off Spring early this year by creating real gardens inside the retirement community.
“A Touch of Spring,” created by Marty Saunders and a number of other residents, includes gardens and a life size copy of former Boston Mayor James Michael Curley sitting on a park bench.
“We have had Touch of Spring the past few years at Linden Ponds but this year we took it to another level,” said Saunders. “Lloyd Lillie who lives here is allowing us to display his fiberglass life-size copy of former Boston Mayor James Michael Curley sitting on a park bench. Residents and I have also worked with staff at Linden Ponds to create the designs and determine the concept.”

Touch of Spring lasts for a few weeks inside Linden Ponds and includes real flowers, real fish and much more.
“Between trips to the Flower Market in Boston, and designing the flower and plant arrangements, all of the residents and staff who worked on this year’s Touch of Spring worked very hard to make this happen,” said Saunders. “We hope everyone enjoys what they see this year.”
