Mark Wahlberg Apologizes For 9/11 Comments

Mark Wahlberg said he would have fought terrorists if he was on one of the hijacked planes on 9/11.

Mark Wahlberg is generating a lot of National criticism after comments that he made about 9/11 attacks in Men’s Journal’s February issue.

The actor and co-owner of  and told the magazine that he would have fought the terrorists if he was on one of the hijacked planes.

“If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn’t have went down like it did,” he told Men’s Journal. “There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, ‘OK, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry...”

According to CBS News, Wahlberg told Time Magazine in 2007 that he was scheduled to be on a morning flight out of Logan Airport on 9/11, but instead took a plane to Toronto a week earlier to attend a friend's film festival.

CBS reports that Wahlberg has since released a statement, apologizing to anyone he offended:

“To speculate about such a situation is ridiculous to begin with, and to suggest I would have done anything differently than the passengers on that plane was irresponsible. I deeply apologize to the families of the victims that my answer came off as insensitive, it was certainly not my intention.”
