MBTA Ferry Gets Stuck in Hingham Harbor Icy Waters

A ferry in Hingham became stuck in ice on Friday morning.

An attempt to restart ferry service by the MBTA in Hingham has resulted in a stuck vessel.

At 8:15 a.m.,a MBTA ferry with over 100 passengers attempted to leave Hingham but was unable to get out of the harbor. A passenger told the Boston Globe that the ferry was following an icebreaker when it left but was blown off track, getting stuck about 15 minutes into the trip.

Another ferry towed the ship while a Coast Guard icebreaker created a path. The ferry arrived in Boston shortly after 10 a.m.
