Meet the Hingham Town Election Candidates

Tonight is Candidates Night at the Town Hall. Candidates running for town office in the Town Elections. may address the audience in a two-minute speech highlighting their credentials and reasons for running for office.  The event runs from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The Hingham Town Election will be Saturday, April 28 and there will be five highly contested races. 

Hingham will see a new Town Moderator after 85-year-old Tom O'Donnell will not seek re-election to the office  for the first time since 1967. In his place Michael Puzo of Cross Street will run against Bernard Manning of Cushing Street.

Manning will also run for a spot on the school committee and for selectman. The Cushing Street resident will challenge friend and neighbor Dennis Friedman, also of Cushing Street and  Paul Gannon  of Sentinel Road for two spots on the Hingham School Committee.

Incumbent Chairman of the Selectmen John Riley will run against Manning and Irma Lauter of Liberty Road, who is a former Advisory Committee Member. Riley has served two terms as Selectman since first being elected in 2006.
