Nantasket Beach Life Guards on Duty for Extended Hours During Heat Wave
DCR announced extended hours and lifeguard services at various DCR beaches including Nantasket Beach.
In response to this week’s pre-summer heat wave, the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) Commissioner Edward M. Lambert Jr. is announcing extended hours and lifeguard services at various DCR beaches including Nantasket Beach.
Commissioner Lambert has announced additional lifeguard coverage at Nantasket beach for Friday. Nantasket Beach which is minutes from Hingham, is normally not staffed on weekdays during the pre-season. Thursday’s temperatures reached the mid 90’s and Friday’s are expected to be in the 70’s according to the National Weather Service. After Friday, they will resume their weekends-only staffing until June 18, after which they will be staffed seven days a week through the summer.
