National Grid to Continue Construction in Hingham
The National Grid will replace two-inch gas mains on Fairview Street, Colby Street and Leonard Street.
At Tuesday's Selectmen meeting, the National Grid was approved to replace two-inch gas mains on Fairview Street, Colby Street and Leonard Street.
The decision was a result of a continuation from their June 9th hearing. In addition, National Grid will be working on Martins Lane and Lafayette Avenue with similar projects.
The construction will likely begin in September when children are back in school as one Hingham resident was concerned for the safety of kids playing in the streets that will be worked on.
The representative from National Grid explained, “Those are conditions we work with on a daily basis. Police officers will maintain control, trenches will be safely monitored, and there will be no disruptions to the sidewalk.”
