Nestle the Dog Helps Hingham Children Read [VIDEO]

The Hingham Library hosted the Dog B.O.N.E.S. Reading Partners for children between the ages of 6 to 10 years-old.

Hingham children were invited Monday afternoon to the to read stories with a canine-dog partner named Nestle .  The program, Dog B.O.N.E.S. Reading Partners, was designed to help improve the literacy skills of children, enhance self-esteem, and reduce self-consciousness so that children look forward to reading.

Susan Czemmel along with her therapy-dog Nestle visit a variety of places across the state including libraries, hospitals and elderly homes to provide a sense of comfort.

Each child got the opportunity to read to Nestley for 15 minutes each.
