New Selectman Thanks Voters, Looks to Bring Change

After being elected to the Board of Selectman on Saturday, Irma Lauter thanked the people of Hingham for voting.

Newly elected Selectman Irma Lauter said she is delighted to be the newest member to the Hingham Board of Selectman and she hopes to bring change.

“I want to thank the people of Hingham and all the people in my campaign for a wonderful win and for sending a clear message that we need a change,” she said.

In Saturday’s Town Election, votes and won in all seven precincts to earn the victory. Lauter received 2,081 votes compared to the Riley’s  1,435 and Bernard Manning's 85 votes.

“I think the people have sent a clear message,” she said. “They want change, they want openness in Government and I got the energy to do this.  I love this town.”

Lauter said she is very excited to be a selectman for the next three years and her goals include helping the people in Hingham, keeping the town budgets under control and helping the senior citizens.
