Olsson Named New Hingham Police Chief
Glenn Olsson will succeed retiring Chief Michael Peraino.

Deputy Chief Glenn Olsson will become Hingham’s tenth police chief on May 1.
The selectmen voted to appoint Olsson to the position 3-0 during their meeting on Thursday night.
In addition to the selectmen’s vote, Olsson received the endorsement of retiring Chief Michael Peraino.

Olsson beat out three other candidates for the position: Lt. Sean Cavanaugh, Lt. David Jones, and Lt. John Norkaitis.
The decision only took minutes with minimal discussion and no debate.
