Hingham Sends Two School Roof Debt Exclusions to November 3 Ballot, Adds $1.1M to High School Project (southshore.news subscription) — Hingham voters will soon decide two debt exclusions for new roofs at Plymouth River and South elementary schools, while Town Meeting will also consider adding $1.1 million to the high school roof and HVAC project. The Select Board also approved a major Taser equipment contract for local police, making these fall meetings and ballots especially important for Hingham taxpayers and families.
   

2. Hingham Centre Roundabout Construction To Coincide With Water Main Replacement; Light Plant Warrant Article Withdrawn (hinghamanchor.com) — Drivers and neighbors in Hingham Centre should prepare for a new one-lane roundabout at Main, Middle, and Short streets next spring, timed with a water main replacement and expected to last four to six months. Officials say emergency vehicles and trucks will still navigate the area, while the Select Board also pulled a light plant bonding article from the October Town Meeting and is recruiting volunteers for several town committees.
   

3. Hingham's 'Spirits of '76' To Screen at Loring Hall! (hinghamanchor.com) — Hingham residents can catch a free premiere of the locally made documentary "Spirits of '76" at Loring Hall in Hingham Square this Sunday, Sept. 20, at noon. Filmed during a special Hingham Cemetery walking tour for the town's 250th celebrations, the movie showcases local Revolutionary-era stories and commentary from historian Jim Conroy, followed by a short Q&A.
   

4. Way Back Wednesday: Selectman William Lafayette Foster (hinghamanchor.com) — Hingham history buffs get a closer look at William Lafayette Foster, who served four decades on the Board of Selectmen while also working for Hingham's banks and indexing centuries of town meeting records. Despite severe arthritis, he painstakingly typed those records with pencils, leaving a remarkable civic legacy preserved by the Hingham Historical Society.
   

5. Hingham field hockey shuts down Hanover (wickedlocal.com) — Hingham High's field hockey team is off to a strong start, highlighted by a shutout performance against Hanover that showcased players like Jenna Varholak, Libby Baxter, and senior captain Libby Koyce. Photo coverage captures Hingham athletes controlling the field, celebrating goals, and rotating through shifts as they build early-season momentum.
