Patriots and Red Sox Return to Play Hingham

In the past, Bill "The Spaceman" Lee and former Super Bowl Champion Tight End Jermaine Wiggins have played in the charity basketball game.

Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots alumni will return this April to play the “Hingham All-Stars” in an annual fundraiser basketball game for the town’s Drug Awareness Program.

Hingham families are invited to the game at the HHS gymnasium at 2 p.m. on  April 7. 

Last year, The Red Sox and Patriots Alumni team was made up of former Red Sox pitchers Bill “Spaceman” Lee and Brian Shaw along with former Patriots running backs Patrick Pass and Harold Shaw, former Super Bowl Champion Tight End Jermaine Wiggins and former Patriots offensive linemen Ed Ellis and Max Lane.

The Hingham Allstars are made up of Hingham police, teachers, coaches and student-athletes.

The list of  guest athletes for this year has not been announced,  DARE officer Rob Ramsey said.

The family event is fun for all ages and players will be available for autographs at half-time.

Tickets to the game are available at the Hingham Police Station or from Officer Ramsey or at the door. Tickets are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children.

The Hingham Police Department’s Drug Awareness Program helps pay for  the DARE program's  books, utilities, pizza parties and other events.
