A witness, who received a ride from the couple, said Townsed threw a full beer can at her boyfriend and slapped him in the face, the police report confirmed. Rust then retaliated by striking his girlfriend in the face and the altercation continued until police arrived.
When officers approached the vehicle, Rust attempted to resist arrest and refused to comply with police commands and Townsed fled onto Fearing Road, according to the police report.

After Rust was forced into the Hingham police cruiser, he began violently banging his head against the window and when police caught up to Townsed she stated that she didn’t want her and her boyfriend to get into trouble, the police report stated.
Each were later booked at the Hingham Police Department. Police said Townsed was out of control during booking and kicked and punched the cell door continuously for over an hour, while kicking and screaming.
