Police Log: Cops Called on Kids, Power Outage

The following excerpts are from the Hingham Police log from July 16-17. The arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, June 16: 


At 7:30 a.m. a caller reported a black female opened her screen door.  Police approached the woman and she advised them that she was from a cleaning service and looking to gain more customers.  Officers advised her to contact police before soliciting business.

At 11:54 a.m. police arrested a 43-year-old Hanson woman on Whiting Street for driving with a suspended license and for a warrant charge of larceny of a check over $250.

At 5:56 a.m. a caller reported a kid was riding a dirt bike on the sidewalk on Planters Field Lane and almost struck a child.

At 11:56 p.m. a caller reported kids broke into his boat at the Hingham Shipyard Marinas and when he arrived they fled.

At 7:59 a.m. a caller reported a homeless man was loitering at the Fresh Market at the Shipyard.

At 10:28 a.m. a caller reported his beagle was stuck under a porch on Puritan Road.

At 1:59 p.m. a caller reported a power outage on North Street.  The Hingham Light Department reported a bad transformer and informed police that the issue was being worked on.

At 5:28 p.m. police arrested a 52-year-old Weymouth man for driving with a suspended license on Lincoln Street.

At 7:04 p.m. Kohl’s Department store reported a shoplifter in custody.

At 8:03 p.m. police arrested a 23-year-old Dorchester man on Irving Street for driving with a suspended license.

At 8:54 p.m. police arrested a 30-year-old Whitman woman on Central Street for driving an unregistered motor vehicle.
