Police Log: Hingham Man Arrested for Having Gun, Teacher’s Purse Stolen

The following excerpts are from the Hingham police log from June 11-13. Where arrests are mentions, it does not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, June 11:

At 3:51 p.m. a South School teacher reported her car window was smashed and her purse was stolen from it.

At 7:54 p.m. a caller reported the intersection of Burlow Road and Lincoln Street was flooding.

At 8:29 p.m. an employee at the Shoe Market at the Derby Street Shoppes reported receiving a fake check.

At 11:11 p.m. police arrested Kristopher Kantola, 25 of Hingham for leaving a firearm in his vehicle and for driving with a suspended license.  The arrest was made after a motor vehicle stop on Otis Street.

Wednesday, June 12:

At 11:54 a.m. a caller reported a compactor was stolen overnight on HMS Stayner Drive.

At 6:01 p.m. a caller reported a three-vehicle accident on the traffic median on Route 3 North Exit 15 on Derby Street.

At 11:24 p.m. a caller reported a female shoplifter at Kohl’s Department Store.

At 11:46 p.m. police arrested Catherine Demers, 51 of Scituate for operating under the influence of alcohol in the 500 block of Main Street.

Thursday, June 13:

At 1:03 a.m. a caller reported two young males stole items from the Aisling Gallery’s front lawn and uprooted the Tupelo Drive sign and placed it on the lawn.  The caller reported one of the males was intoxicated and they left in a white pickup truck.  SEE STORY.
