Police Log: Hingham Teen Arrested For Shoplifting, Braintree Woman Busted for OUI Drugs

The following excerpts are from the Hingham police log from Thursday, June 20 to Friday, Juen 21. The arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, June 20:

At 8:38 a.m. police arrested Joel Dennis, 17 of Hingham for receiving stolen property, shoplifting from the AJ's Gulf Station on North Street, possession of liquor, and obstruction of justice.

At 9:54 a.m. police arrested Cynthia McCarthy, 28 of Braintree for operating under the influence of drugs (third offense) at the intersection of Friend and High Street.

At 12:24 p.m. the Hingham Fire Department responded to heavy smoke in a dining room of the Queen Anne Nursing Home.

At 12:59 p.m. the Eat Well Inc. reported an unknown man going through there office on North Street.  SEE STORY.

At 9:01 p.m. a caller reported a pedestrian on a skateboard was hit by a vehicle on North Street.

At 9:57 p.m. police arrested Joel Liddy, 42 of Plymouth for operating under the influence of alcohol (second offense).  The arrest was made on Main Street near the Notre Dame Academy building.

Friday, June 21: 

At 12:42 a.m. a caller reported an explosion heard on Ward Street.

At 12:27 p.m. a caller reported a female begging for money so she could get to Worcester.  She was standing at the intersection of Main and South Street.

At11:37 a.m. a caller complained about fireworks on Volusa Road.
