Police Log: Injured Hawk Rests in Hingham Backyard, Driving with OUI Arrest

Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013

At 8:01 a.m., Hingham police responded to a two-car accident at Cushing Street and Derby Street. Both vehicles were towed.

At 12:35 p.m., a person who had been walking and found shot gun shells brought them into the police station.

Sept. 10

A resident of Steamboat Lane called police at 3:36 p.m. to report a Hawk that appeared to be injured perched on their backyard swing set. The animal control officer brought the hawk to the VCA. It may have been shot, the ACO said, as it had a hole in its chest and had lost a lot of blood.

At 7:36 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident in front of Sons of Italy. One vehicle was smoking, but no fire.

Sept. 9

The harbormaster responded at 12:20 p.m. to a report of a boat sinking and listing on its side at Bare Cove Marina. The harbormaster notified the owner.

At 7:30 p.m., police arrested John Keyes, 45 of Quincy, on Broad Cove Road after a motor vehicle stop turned up that Keyes was driving with a license suspended for operating under the influence. He also did not have an inspection sticker.
