Police Log: Man Robbed at Knifepoint in Hingham

The following is an excerpt from the Hingham Police log from Friday, April 6 to Sunday, April 8. The following arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, April 6:

At 8:51 a.m. a caller reported a small brush fire in the woods near Charles and Pleasant Street.  The caller reported it started as a smoldering small camp fire which had gotten worse.  Hingham Fire responded and extinguished the fire.

At 1:00 p.m. a caller reported a three car motor vehicle on Broad Cove Road near the Hingham Lobster Pound.

At 4:20 p.m. a caller reported a small brush fire  on Bulow Road that started near a shed and buckled to the siding of a home. Hingham Fire responded and extinguished the fire.

Saturday April 7:

At 6:33 a.m. a caller reported a small mulch fire by Alma Nove. Hingham Fire responded.

At 8:13 p.m. a caller reported a male was robbed at knife-point at the intersection of High and Whitcomb Avenue. The suspect fled towards Main Street.

At 11:37 p.m. police arrested Jose Garcia-Machuca, age 33 of Norwell at the Taco Bell on Washington Street for operating under the influence of alcohol and failure to stop. 

Sunday, April 8:

At 1:34 p.m. a caller reported a bike, worth $550, was stolen from a front yard on Bel Air Road.
