Police Log: Paper Boy Assaulted By Customer, 500 Pound Pig Invades Yard

The following excerpts are from the Hingham police log from May 3-4. The arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, May 3:

At 8:01 p.m. a caller on Newbridge Street reported a deer damaged a vehicle.

At 8:34 p.m. police arrested Matthew Monahan, age 70 of Braintree for driving under the influence of alcohol and possessing an open container in his motor vehicle. The arrest was made at the intersection of Lincoln Street and Fottler Road.

Saturday, May 4:

At 6:53 a.m. a newspaper delivery man stated he was assaulted by a customer on Leavitt Street.  Police were called to the scene and the parties came to a resolution.  No arrest was made.

At 8:52 a.m. a caller on Free Street reported a large 500 pound pig in her yard eating her vegetable garden.  Officers were called to the scene and reported farm workers had retrieved the pig.

At 10:29 a.m. security detained a shoplifter at the Kohl’s Department Store at the Derby Street Shoppes.

At 3:22 p.m. police arrested Sandra Fahey, 51 of Weymouth for driving under the influence of alcohol.  The arrest was made in front of Kohls Department Store after a caller reported the suspect went through a red light and drove on the wrong side of the road before pulling into the Derby Street Shoppes.

At 10:05 p.m. multiple neighbors reported a disturbing party on South Pleasant Street.

At 11:01 p.m. a caller reported teens trying to get into the Tedeschi’s on South Street while the store was already closed.
