Police Log: Slashed Tires, OUI, and More

The following is from the Hingham Police Log. Where arrests and charges are mentioned, they do not imply conviction.

February 21

1:30 a.m. - A caller on Newbridge Street reported a loud noise in the area described as a jet engine. Police checked the area and found a a crew at the train tracks using a snowblower with a jet.

10:07 a.m. - A driver on Berkley Circle told police that she almost hit a child and went into a snowbank to avoid the child. The driver said this was because of the road conditions. A check of the area found no problems.

1:15 p.m. - A business owner on South Street reported a person that stole body scrub from her store. Police checked the area and were unable to find the alleged thief.

4:29 p.m. - A caller on Lincoln Street told police that a man threatened to slash his tires after a road rage incident.

5:27 p.m. - A caller at the intersection of Crooked Meadow Lane and Main Street told police that the car in front of her spun out, she swerved to not hit the vehicle, and got stuck in a snowbank.

10:46 p.m. - A large piece of concrete sticking out of a snow bank on Crow Point Lane was reported. The DPW was notified.

11:28 p.m. - After a motor vehicle hit the median at the intersection of East Street and Hull Street, Bernard Kinsella, 54, of Norwell, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, and a marked lanes violation.

7:39 a.m. - A vehicle stuck in a snow bank was reported.
