Police Log: Tree Falls on Moving Vehicle

The following excerpts are from the Hingham police log from Nov. 7-8. The arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, November 7:

At 1:37 a.m. police arrested a 34-year-old Weymouth woman for driving with a suspended license.

At 10:01 a.m. a caller at Hingham High School requested extra patrols on the fields overnight after vandalism was done.

At 3:56 p.m. a caller reported a tree fell on a moving vehicle at the intersection of Beal Street and Hockley Drive.  EMTs were called to the scene but no medical transport was needed.

At 6:57 p.m. a caller reported wind blew down a tree branch on Foley Beach Road

At 7:58 p.m. a caller reported a tree down near the Hingham Library on Leavitt Street.

At 8:18 p.m. a caller reported a tree down on Rockwood Road.

Thursday, November 8:

At 2:24 a.m. a caller reported a downed wires caused a brushfire on Howland Lane.

At 4:21 p.m. police arrested Harold Branch, age 72 of Dorchester for disturbance at a school, assault with a dangerous weapon, disorderly conduct, and threatening to commit a crime.  The arrest took place at the South Shore Educational Collaborative.
