Power Restored to Hingham After Hurricane-Like Wind Gusts Leave Dozens Blacked Out
By 10:45 a.m. Thursday morning, all of Hingham had their power back.
Power was restored to all of Hingham on Thursday morning after hurricane-like wind speeds knocked out electricity to nearly 40 homes across town.
Paul Heanue, the General Manager of Hingham Municipal Lighting Plant said the recorded 65 miles per hour winds were the highest he’s ever seen. It was also the highest wind speeds recorded by the Hingham Central Fire Station in ten years, Heanue said.
Homes started reporting power outages by 3:45 a.m. Thursday, and by 10:45 a.m. power had been restored to every home in town, Heanue said.

All areas of Hingham had been affected.
Although Thursday’s winds speeds in Hingham were higher than of those during they were much kinder.

During Super Storm Sandy back in October, over 500 homes in Hingham lost power.
