Public Invited to Meet With School Building Committee on Wednesday

The committee will present details on the Hingham Middle School Project on August 10.

The School Building Committee invites all members of the public to its meeting  Wednesday to present the developing details of the new middle school project.

Wednesday's meeting will be held in the Central Meeting Room on the second floor of the and will begin at 7:00 p.m in order to accommodate a larger audience.

The meeting will be recorded for broadcast on the Town Government Channels.

In addition to conducting its regular weekly meeting, the School Building Committee will provide members of the public in attendance the opportunity to learn about project status, view the most recent design schematics and raise questions and concerns.

On August 9,  the School Building Committee will formally request that the Board of Selectmen convene a Special Town Meeting and ballot vote this fall to consider a warrant article requesting a debt exclusion override to fund construction of the middle school project.  On schedule for approval by the MSBA at its September Board meeting, the project is expected to cost approximately $50-$57 million before MSBA reimbursement projected to be between 40 and 44 percent.
