On Tuesday, school starts on Hingham, with the first day of school taking place during the normal start time on the day after Labor Day.

Bus Routes

The Hingham Public Schools plans and schedules rides (bus, van, parent or walker) for every student enrolled in school.

All students are assigned a bus based on their home address, unless parents have made alternative arrangements known to the transportation department (i.e daycare, drop off or pick up at a relative’s house, etc.) This information is then posted in the student’s records, which teachers may use to assist in getting students to their bus at the end of the day.

  • Sept. 10: Preschool and Kindergarten Opens
  • Oct. 7: Early Release Day
  • Oct. 12: Columbus Day - No School
  • Nov. 4: Delay Start for Grades 6-12 and Early Release for Grades K-5
  • Nov. 11: Veterans Day - No School
  • Nov. 25: Early Dismissal
  • Nov. 26 and Nov. 27: No School Thanksgiving Holiday
